Going to the spa and getting a pedicure is one of my favourite treats! Sometimes when time (or budget) is tight, it’s just as lovely to have one at home.

Here is a luxurious, quick and easy two-part DIY summer foot spa to enjoy at home. I’ve made this really quick to make, because you’ll want to spend more time off your feet relaxing than in the kitchen making products!

Part 1: Rose and Mint Foot Soak

Try this to revive, freshen and soften tired feet!

Ingredients

75g Epsom salts or sea salt
24g goats’ milk powder or bicarbonate of soda
1g (approx. 30 drops) peppermint essential oil

You can also add a sprinkle of dried rose petals or peppermint for decoration.

To make: This is super simple to make, just mix all ingredients together well and store in a air-tight container.

To use: Dissolve two tablespoons in a bowl of warm water, soak your feet for 10 minutes and relax!

Follow with a pumice stone to remove any dry or rough skin. Then move onto part two.

Part 2: Softening Mint Foot Butter

Perfect after the Rose and Mint Foot Soak! A little goes a long way.

This is a very quick recipe to make as we won’t melt the butter completely. If you have time and want a smoother finished product then you can melt the butter completely.

Ingredients

70g shea butter at room temperature (soften a little in a double boiler if the butter is cold as it won’t whisk if too cold)
29g cold pressed sunflower oil (or another carrier oil, try avocado for very dry skin)
0.5g (approx. 15 drops) peppermint essential oil and 0.5g (approx. 15 drops) lavender essential oil
Or 0.5g (approx. 15 drops) lemongrass essential oil and 0.5g (approx. 15 drops) lavender essential oil.

To make: Whisk the butter with an electric hand whisk until light and fluffy, add the sunflower oil and whisk again. Finally, add the essential oil, whisk one last time and put into pots.

To use: Massage into your feet for amazingly soft, smooth skin! Shea butter is soothing and nourishing, and leaves skin really soft and smooth. Great for all skin types, especially dry skin.
